Call for Entries for 40th IDA Documentary Awards open

IDA Doc Awards 2024 call for submissions

Organisers of the IDA Documentary Awards have put out the call for entries for the event’s 40th roll-out in December 2024 (award ceremony date to be announced). The awards are “the world’s most prestigious event [December date TBA] dedicated to the documentary genre,” they say, celebrating the best non-fiction films, TV work, and audio documentaries of the year and seeking to represent excellence in the documentary field by emerging and established documentarians worldwide.

The date for submissions is August 5 2024. Final deadline extensions can be granted, but by permission only. The extended deadline for these is August 15, 11:59 pm PDT.

IDA members get discounted rates on entry fees. They also receive the exclusive opportunity to stream all shortlisted Feature and Short documentaries and vote for the winners in these two categories. All other category winners are selected by professional juries.

“The IDA Documentary Awards seeks to represent excellence in the documentary field worldwide by emerging and established documentarians,” write organisers. To check out the eligibility criteria and submit projects before the deadline, see: https://www.documentary.org/awards2024.

This year some entry categories, rules, and regulations have changed. Organisers urge all parties to make sure to read all Rules & Regulations and FAQs before sharing their work for consideration at documentary.org.
