CPH:DOX’s international financing and co-production event CPH:FORUM has put out the call for its 2027 edition. The deadline for submissions is November 3, 2026.
Next year, CPH:FORUM will place the spotlight young audiences with a new focus on documentary projects aimed directly at them. The initiative will present a curated selection of exciting new projects that are innovative in form and content and encourage teams with projects that are digital first, vertical and other formats to apply to the Forum.
The event will bring together digital commissioners, public service media and new market professionals geared towards audience development and innovation in independent nonfiction storytelling. The selected projects will be showcased as part of the Forum in a dedicated section.
As in previous years, CPH:FORUM will continue its focus on creative documentary projects that tackle science as a theme “in ways that redefine the cinematic language and push the boundaries of what a science documentary can be,” write organisers.
Together with Sandbox Films who will be awarding one project (see below), CPH:FORUM is calling upon “bold filmmakers” to bring untold science stories to the forefront.
CPH:FORUM AWARDS 2026
For the third year running, CPH:FORUM will partner with Sandbox Films, a leading production company “at the intersection of science and cinema,” to present The Sandbox Films Science Pitch Prize, valued at $25,000. The prize will go to a science documentary project presented at CPH:FORUM that demonstrates exceptional innovation in the genre, blending artistic merit with scientific inquiry.
This prize is presented alongside a slate of other pitch awards at CPH:FORUM 2027 including the Eurimages New Lab Innovation Award of €20,000 for an innovative project in development. For the second year running The ARTE Award will be handed out to two projects in the form of consultations with Rough Cut Services, valued at €2,500 each. Also up for the grabs will be the The Rise and Shine Award of €3,000, and The Unifrance & Titrafilm Doc Award totalling a value of €5,500 – with more to be announced.
CPH:FORUM will take place March 16-18 2027 in Copenhagen, with CPH:ROUGHCUT presentations on March 15, 2027.
