Eight industry awards were presented 31 October to the most promising projects participating in the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum 2024. In total, thirty projects from Europe, United States and East & Southeast Asia in development, production and post-production were presented. The winners received cash and in-kind awards in accordance with the partners of Ji.hlava IDFF.
UPP & SOUNDSQUARE AWARD (post-production services in the value of 15,000 EUR and 5,000 EUR) Winner: Wasteland Chronicles. Directors: Viera Čákanyová/Barbora Sliepková/Lucia Kašová. Producers: Anna Mach Rumanová / Martina Netíková. Countries: Slovakia/Czech Republic. Jury statement: For this award, we were impressed by their bold, cinematic filmmaking that united three unique directorial visions cohesively. This collaborative approach to the subject matter feels both inspiring and urgent.
AMDOCS AWARDS (7,000 USD). Winner: Fenced (7,000 USD). Director: Gabriella Garcia Pardo. Producer: Jonna McKone. Country: USA. Jury statement: For this award, we were immediately struck by the unique essaysitic approach to this deeply specific yet universal exploration of the way we can be divided. Understanding the way barriers are constructed can begin a process in understanding how they can be dismantled.
