
Submissions are open for Greek and international podcasters to submit for the new podcast competition section of the 23rd Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
“Following the success of the [March] workshops and the open discussion with the participation of top podcasters from Greece and abroad and the enthusiastic reaction of the audience, the podcast section of the 23rd Thessaloniki Documentary Festival moves to the next phase,” says the leading Greek doc festival. “The Festival is one of the first to incorporate podcasts, the digital files that have taken over the world, to its program.”
The selected podcasts will be presented during the hybrid edition of the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, running June 24 to July 4 2021.
The podcast competition section is divided into two subsections: one for Greek-language and one for English-language podcasts. In each subsection, a cash prize will be awarded by a jury composed of renowned audio-visual professionals.
The podcasts must be 20-60 minutes in length. Τhe deadline for submissions is May 14 at 17:00 EEST (GMT+3).
For the podcasts to be considered eligible for participation in the podcast competition, they should be presented at the Festival as a world premiere, and should not be uploaded on any platform, whether it is publicly accessible or requires a subscription before the end of until the end of the Festival (to July 5, 2021).
Submissions are eligible in the following categories:
• fiction podcasts
• documentary podcasts
• either fiction or documentary podcasts that incorporate interviews into their narrative
In the case of a podcast submitted as part of a podcast series, it should still make its world premiere at the 23rd Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.
