Following the August 30 announcement of the 13-film European Documentary shortlist for the 2022 European Film Awards, a further doc title has been added: Mark Cousins’ A March On Rome (Italy).
Five feature films have also been added. These are: Aftersun by Charlotte Wells (United Kingdom); All Quiet On The Western Front by Edward Berger (Germany);
Saint Omer by Alice Diop (France); The Souvenir, Part II by Joanna Hogg (United Kingdom), and Vera, directed by Tizza Covi & Rainer Frimmel (Austria).
After the upcoming two-stage nomination and voting process undertaken by the 4,400 Academy members, the winners will be announced at the European Film Awards in Reykjavík on December 10.
The members will watch the selected films and vote on the nominations in the ‘European Documentary’ category, as well as in the ‘European Film’, ‘Director’, ‘Actor’, ‘Actress’ and ‘Screenwriter’ categories. Based on the votes of all members, the nominations will be made public on 8 November 2022. The members of the European Film Academy will then vote for the winners who will be announced at the European Film Awards ceremony in Reykjavík on December 10.
