Among the latest projects granted production support by the Nordisk Film & TV Fond are two documentaries, Fredrik Gertten’s Breaking Social, produced by WG Film (Sweden), and Gunnar Hal Jensen’s Portrait of a Confused Father (UpNorth Film, Norway). The films have received NOK 700,000 (€67,200) and NOK 550,000 (€52,800) respectively.

Breaking Social has received co-financing from Film I Skåne, NRK, VPRO, RTS, support from the Swedish Film Institute and Creative Europe. The premiere is set for the spring 2023.

Logline: A macho, middle-aged control freak father is trying to connect with his unruly son. It doesn’t go according to plan. We meet Gunnar, newly divorced after 20 year of traditional marriage, as he looks back and tries to figure out what the hell happened.
The film, co-produced by France’s Little Big Story, received co-financing from NRK, DR, SVT, YLE, BBC, RTS, and France Television, secured via the French co-producer. The domestic premiere is slated for late 2023.
