DocsBarcelona Industry has announced the projects selected for the Public Pitch, Speed Meetings, Rough Cut and New Tech Pitch sections. Participants within each section will present their projects to a panel of international decision makers, funders and distributors. The professional programme will run May 6-10.
DocsBarcelona Industry every year brings together around 600 professionals who attend its conferences, masterclasses, pitch sessions, speed meetings and many more activities. More than 70 distributors and commissioning editors from the main televisions and VOD platforms from around the world gather together to promote the documentary industry.
PUBLIC PITCH – 8 & 9 May
The selected projects will be presented to an expert panel made up of commissioning editors, funds, sales agents, festival programmers and distributors from across the world. DocsBarcelona Industry will offer expert guidance before the pitch in order that participants can perfect their trailers and best prepare their presentations. This activity is carried out both in person and online.
NEW TECH PITCH – 9 May
The inaugural New Tech Pitch is organized in collaboration with the Sónar+D festival. A selection of 4 non-fiction projects that incorporate emerging technologies will be presented in front of a large panel of funders and industry experts from around the world. Projects must use, during one of their production phases, one of the following technologies: AI models, AI-powered tools, VR, XR, AR, web3, blockchain or metaverse. Thanks to the collaboration with Sónar+D and Metacampus, the winners of the New Tech Pitch will enjoy two accreditations and a personalized agenda with industry professionals at Sónar+D 2024, as well as an arranged programme of meetings with investors.
In addition, all the projects selected to participate in the New Tech Pitch will receive two licenses to access the Metacampus emerging technologies training platform.
ROUGH CUT PITCH – 7 May
