Deadline time for Docu Talents from the East at Sarajevo

With a deadline of April 30, time is almost up for the submission of projects for Docu Talents 2020. Docu Talents is presented as part of CineLink Industry Days at the Sarajevo Film Festival during which directors and producers of the selected feature-length documentaries will introduce their projects to the international doc community.

The 10 chosen documentary projects from Central and Eastern Europe must be scheduled for release from September 2020 through August 2021.

Presentations are followed by one-to-one meetings with selected experts and the most promising project receives the Docu Talent Award, presented in cooperation with Current Time TV. The award is accompanied by a financial prize of 5,000 USD.

The projects are selected by representatives of the Ji.hlava IDFF.

Sarajevo FF underlined April 22 its determination to host a physical event in 2020, telling Screen International: “We launched our festival during the Siege of Sarajevo in 1995 when there were bombings, snipers and no food, water or electricity. To host an online version of the festival would betray our mission even in the face of this invisible enemy. So there is no doubt the Sarajevo Film Festival will be able to answer the Covid-19 situation creatively.”

Since 2005, Docu Talents has been launch pad for a number of documentaries, including Rabbit a la BerlinBlind LovesMatchmaking MayorCooking HistoryRenéFortressPipelineDaniels´s WorldUnder the SunFC RomaClose RelationsThe Road Movie and Frem.
