DocsBarcelona Industry (May 6-10) has unveiled a raft of cash and in-kind prizes to be handed out during the 27th edition of the festival which will run May 2-12 2024. The awards will be given to the best projects selected across the various Forum funding activities (Public Pitch, Rough Cut Pitch, New Tech Pitch* and Speed Meetings).
This year will see the inaugural Tech Pitch*, organized in collaboration with the Sónar+D festival. A selection of 4 non-fiction projects that include emerging technologies will be presented in front of a large panel of funders and industry experts from around the world, interested in projects of this type. Projects must use, in one of their production phases, one of the following technologies: AI models, AI-powered tools, VR, XR, AR, web3, blockchain or metaverse.
The deadline for submission of all projects for DocsBarcelona Industry 2024 is January 29.
The DocsBarcelona Industry 2024 prizes are:
- DocsBarcelona Best Project Award: Valued at €4,500.
- HBO MAX Best Pitch Award: €2,000 to the best Public Pitch project, for its futruredevelopment.
- Public Pitch Award by Antaviana Films: Consisting of post-production and finishing services, valued at €3,000.
- Music Library Award: Rough Cut Pitch award entailing a €1,000 cash prize and flat music license fees, valued at €295.
- Sónar+D Award: One New Tech Pitch project will be selected to attend Sónar+D in 2024 with a personalized networking agenda for two team members.
- FipaDoc Award: One Industry project will be selected to participate at FipaDoc 2025.
- East Doc Platform Award: One Industry project will be selected to participate at East Doc Platform 2025.
- Mia Doc Market Award: One Industry project will be selected to participate at MIA DOC Market 2024.
- Dokfest Munich Award: One Industry project will be selected to participate at DOK.fest München 2025.
- San Sebastian – Foro Lau Haizetara Award: An Industry project will be selected to participate in the San Sebastian Lau Haizetara 2024 Forum.
