FIFDH Impact Days, which runs March 10-12 during the Geneva-based FIFDH International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights, has repeated its call for projects with a strong potential for impact. The deadline for submissions is midnight CET on October 6.
“With the right partners, documentaries have the power to motivate change! At the FIFDH Impact Days we facilitate meaningful alliances between filmmakers and key players in the vast ecosystem of organisations, policymakers and funders active around International Geneva and beyond,” write organisers.
Geneva, Switzerland is home to the UN Human Rights Council, WHO, ICRC, UNHCR, and hundreds of NGOs and philanthropists active in human rights protection and advocacy. The city also hosts the renowned annual event FIFDH International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights.
Since its launch six years ago, the FIFDH’s industry programme Impact Days has helped numerous filmmakers from around the globe amplify the impact of their work. Every year the event:
- Selects 16 documentary projects from around the world about urgent social or environmental issues
- Trains the selected teams to craft an impact strategy through our Impact Lab (18-19 January 2024 online)
- Connects the teams with dozens of NGOs, international organisations and philanthropists (10-12 March 2024 in Geneva)
The selection criteria is as follows:
- Non-fiction film projects of 52+ minutes. Projects in production and post-production.
- Projects in a late development stage are considered if they can demonstrate access to the subject, strong storytelling in the treatment and work sample, and an urgency to the story.
- Also eligible are recently completed films which can benefit from developing an urgent impact campaign.
