IDF call for applications for East Doc Interactive 2021

The Institute of Documentary Film is looking for projects for the East Doc Interactive workshop, which is open to non-fiction interactive and immersive projects, covering “any projects with an innovative and cutting-edge approach to the possibilities of new media storytelling and the medium itself,” says East Doc Interactive Curator Lars Rummel. The deadline is November 27 2020.

East Doc Interactive is an intensive five days long workshop for interactive and immersive XR projects in development. “The programme aims to value your artistic vision, but also pushing your projects into new dimensions with the help of our amazing line-up of experienced tutors. There is no competition, there is only a shared bubble of wisdom.” Projects can be at any stage of development, production or post-production.

Not only are XR-projects (Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, 360°-film) welcomed, but also cross-media projects, linear documentaries with interactive, engaging internet platforms and multimedia. The projects can be at any stage of development, production or post-production.

Up to five projects will be selected for the workshop. IDF is looking to initiate new collaborations and enable support from the XR industry. At the end of the workshop, the three most advanced projects will be presented within the interactive pitch at the East Doc Forum, which is “the key place to build partnerships, secure funding, and receive in-depth feedback from the international market”. Two additional projects will benefit from the one-on-one meetings with industry professionals from the interactive storytelling field, broadcasters, funders and advisors within the East Doc Market.
