Ji.hlava IDFF announces 16 International Comp titles

Sixteen titles have been selected for Opus Bonum International Competition of the 26th Ji.hlava IDFF. Eight films will be screened in their world premiere, seven in international premiere and one will have its European premiere at Ji.hlava. 

The competition features a “great diversity of outstanding films” produced by filmmakers from 15 countries: Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Italy, Japan, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, and USA.

The Opus Bonum international jury is composed of Filipino filmmaker Lav Diaz, film critic and journalist from New Zealand Carmen Gray, Czech film director Diana Cam Van Nguyen, Romanian producer Bianca Oana, and director of Doclisboa Miguel Ribeiro.

The Opus Bonum Awards are accompanied with cash prizes $10,000 for the Best World Documentary and €3,000 for the best Central and Eastern European film. The Opus Bonum jury will also hand out awards for the best cinematography, editing, and sound design. At the same time, outstanding formats, such as the best film essay, will be highlighted.
