The Rome-based MIA International Audiovisual Market is open for submissions for its next edition, running October 9-13 2023. Of core interest to the documentary industry is the Doc Co-Production Market, an event committed to providing exposure to documentary projects in development.
MIA’s international selection committee selects up to 15 projects with high artistic standing and distribution potential. The event invites submissions in the form of documentary feature-length films, docuseries and TV one-offs.
The deadline for submissions is July 7 2023 (17.00 CET).
“The MIA Doc Co-Production Market is the most important Italian event dedicated to documentary projects in the development stage,” write organisers. “MIA DOC has always paid great attention towards Italian documentaries and their internationalisation. The MIA Market offers several networking opportunities and support producers to connect with the international decision-makers attending the market.”
The market also invites submissions within drama and animation sectors.
“Our purpose is to give the right visibility and opportunities to all audiovisual works, presented at MIA in all genres and formats and in different stages of development and production, of great artistic value, supporting the freedom of artistic expression and representing cultural diversity and cooperation, presenting a selection of projects in all categories, in particular the most wide-ranging ones and most suitable for co-production, aiming to represent as independent and plural views as possible,” write organisers.
