Munich Audience Award to He’s My Brother

He’s My Brother by Cille Hannibal/Christine Hanberg

The DOK.fest Muenchen kinokino Audience Award, valued at €2000, was handed May 22 to Danish directors Cille Hannibal and Christine Hanberg for their documentary He’s My Brother.

The Danish/Norwegian film is produced by Monica Hellström of Final Cut for Real (Denmark) and co-produced by Anita Rehoff Larsen of Sant & Usant (Norway). International sales are handled by Cinephil.

The festival describes the work: ‘How do you feel the world with three senses? ‘Born three months premature, Peter can neither see nor hear. Every day he feels and explores in his own way. His sister Christine accompanies him lovingly. The moving portrait of a courageous family in the struggle for a dignified life: absolutely unforgettable.’

The Business Doc Europe review further described it as “a deeply moving, compassionate and ultimately heart-warming doc which may be modest and straightforward in tone and structure, but [which] will strike a deep chord with audiences.”
