The 34th edition of the festival will kick off at Cinema Panora on 21 September with the Opening Night presentation of The Gullspång Miracle (dir. Maria Fredriksson) together with the short film Fár (dir. Gunnur Martinsdóttir Schlüter).
The Gullspång Miracle – a stranger-than-fiction documentary – is an eerie depiction of a family reunification that soon spirals out of control, while Fár – a short fiction – sees the escalation of a boring business meeting into a fascinating and gripping moral dilemma.
During Nordisk Panorama twenty-two docs will play across three competition sections: Best Nordic Documentary, New Nordic Voice Documentary Competition and the City of Malmö Audience Award. A total of €25,000 is up for grabs. This includes awards within two short film competitions.
Best Nordic Documentary
The Best Nordic Documentary Award is presented to the director of one of 16 films in competition. The cash award of €11,000 is sponsored by the Nordic public broadcasters DR, NRK, RUV, SVT and YLE.

New Nordic Voice Doc Comp Films
The New Nordic Voice competition introduces promising Nordic filmmakers whose works are among their first releases. The award, sponsored by AVEK and Film i Skåne, goes to the director(s) of the winning film.
