
Nyon-based Visions du Réel Industry (Switzerland) has announced that its next edition will roll out April 14 to 17 in 2024.
Additionally, VdR–Industry will join forces with the Council of Europe’s Eurimages Fund to present the inaugural Eurimages Co-production Development Award, valued at €20,000.
“This prestigious award has been created to promote the Fund’s role in encouraging international co-production from the initial stages of a project, and will be awarded to one project from the VdR–Pitching strand,” write organisers.
This Eurimages prize is added to the Industry programme’s other awards:
- The visions sud est Award (CHF 10,000 cash). Awarded to the best project from the South or East (Africa, Latin America, Asia and Eastern Europe, according to SDC’s eligibility country list) for a project presented in VdR–Pitching or VdR–Work in Progress.
- Lightdox Award (€3,000€ cash). Awarded to a project with highest international potential from the VdR–Work-in-Progress section.
- The Party Film Sales Award (a prize valued 5,000€ – including 2,500€ cash). Awarded to a project with strong international potential). The Award comprises a grant of 5,000€, divided into a financial contribution of 2,500€ directly allocated to the winning project, along with guidance on international market access strategy (positioning, marketing, festivals) tailored to the project’s specifics and the team’s needs.
- RTS Award. A pre-buy for one project from the VdR–Pitching
- TËNK Post-Production Award. Sound post-production facilities at Tënk studios (France) – Mixing studio (2 weeks) and Auditorium (1 week)
- Unifrance Doc Award. Subtitles creation sponsored by TitraFilm and one Unifrance’s membership for the French producer attached to the project
- Raggioverde Subtitling Award. Subtitles creation including translation in one language
- Downtown Studio Award. Creation of a DCP package
- Additional awards and prizes will be announced early 2024!
Festival and Industry organisers also reminded producers/filmmakers of a final submission deadline of 20 December 2023 both for films and projects for the 2024 edition. Projects will be selected for the VdR–Pitching and VdR–Work-in-Progress sections, as well as for VdR–Rough Cut Lab.
