Visions du Réel Industry has sent out a reminder of its Oct 31 deadline for the 2022 VdR–Development Lab, dedicated to projects from Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Submissions are still open for films & projects for Visions du Réel plus Industry 2022, with a first deadline of November 8. The festival runs 7-17 April 2022.
The VdR–Development Lab is conceived as an incubator for the development of films from Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. It offers directors and producers the opportunity to be tutored through the development stage in order to facilitate the stepping into the international market. In addition, each selected project receives a grant of CHF 5,000 for support during this phase. The program is run in partnership with TorinoFilmLab. Deadline: October 31.
Visions du Réel earlier announced a first deadline of November 8 for films of all lengths which are finished as of October 2021, as well as Industry projects ready for submission. The second deadline will be 17 December.
The docfest is looking for films of any length (short, medium and feature length) for Official Selection which comprises:

“The aim of Visions du Réel, International Film Festival Nyon, is to present films that, through their formal and aesthetic choices, provide personal and singular expressions and descriptions of past, present or future realities, freely interpreting the very definition of non-fiction filmmaking and its implementation,” says the festival.
The festival is also looking for projects of feature length films at every stage of production for the VdR–Industry programme. Projects are presented in VdR–Industry for the first time at their current stage:
