9 CPH:LAB works to showcase at INTER:ACTIVE Symposium 2024, plus line-up

CPH:DOX unveiled Feb 20 the nine projects selected for CPH:LAB, the festival’s talent development programme aimed at fostering innovative documentary filmmaking and projects engaging with young audiences. The programme “champions creative risk-taking, supports collaboration across borders and industries, and encourages participants to push the boundaries of the documentary genre,” write organisers.

The 2024 cohort of CPH:LAB will present their work at the INTER:ACTIVE SYMPOSIUM, showcasing nine projects by 22 participants. “This presentation marks their first public unveiling, followed by a Prototype Pop-Up event for closer interaction with the creators,” write organiesrs. 

CPH:LAB is supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA programme of the European Union and The Danish Film Institute, “emphasizing its significance in nurturing raw talent and advancing documentary filmmaking.”

INTER:ACTIVE Symposium 2024 announces its line-up
The March 18 INTER:ACTIVE Symposium 2024 will feature a series of presentations under the theme ‘Who owns the narrative?’. Participants will explore the evolving creative landscape, challenge dominant narratives, and discuss the future of storytelling. The Symposium includes conference-style discussions, presentations by CPH:LAB teams, as well as artists like Astria Suparak, Alistair Gentry, and Avinash Kumar, who engage with themes of decolonization, disability, and speculative futures. The Symposium concludes with a Prototype Pop-Up event for further engagement with the artists’ work, highlighting the symposium’s role in fostering dialogue and innovation within the creative industries.The Symposium will be open to all accredited guests as well as ticket holders.

INTRO:DOX extends its accreditation deadline to Friday 23 February
INTRO:DOX offers a “deep dive into the realm of documentary filmmaking, specifically tailored for emerging talents,” offering full access to all CPH:FORUM presentations at a special price. The programme kicks off with sessions that provide valuable insights for understanding the journey of a film from development to world premiere, and engaging in thought-provoking discussions with seasoned producers.

Highlights include interactive panels with industry gatekeepers, offering a closer look at what broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, and festival programmers seek in projects. Networking opportunities will culminate in a unique happy hour event that encourages direct interaction with established industry professionals. The INTRO:DOX days will take place on March 17-18.

The deadline for INDUSTRY, ACADEMY and PRESS accreditation is March 1.
