Doclisboa may be fast approaching the close of its reconfigured 2020/21 edition, but plans are already at advanced stage for the next festival, to run 21-31 October 2021. The leading Iberian docfest invites entries for films and industry projects, with a combined deadline June 30.
In addition Nebulae, the industry programme of Doclisboa, has announced that Croatia will be the Guest Country of 2021. Presented with the support of the Croatian Audiovisual Center, the invitations will entail a series of dedicated meetings, presentations and a pitching session of Croatian national projects.
The Nebulae programme, which in 2020 welcomed more than 800 guests from more than 70 countries, will take place in 2021 in hybrid form, both online and onsite. The programme is described by the fest as “the space for networking at Doclisboa. It is a group of activities, gatherings, opportunities and people for the advancement of the creation, production and dissemination of independent film.”
Applications for the event’s pitching session opened 1 April, and will run through to 30 June, 2021.
The submission of films for the festival must be done through the Eventival platform. National and international films, produced since September 2020 and of any length, can be submitted.
