The FIFDH Impact Days (10-12 March 2024) programme includes a smorgasbord of Impact-related pitches, case studies, keynotes, analyses of best practice and networking opportunities.
Sixteen film teams selected for this year’s Impact Lab will publicly pitch their films and impact campaigns to an audience of changemakers, philanthropists, and other accredited professionals. The 2024 selection was made from 170 documentary submissions from 65 countries and 5 continents! The final selection represents directors from 21 different countries, with a 50-50 gender split.
Other highlights include an Impact keynote by Sandra Whipham, Co-Director of Doc Society; impact case studies of Mariana Marín Romero’s Home Is Somewhere Else and Matthieu Lietaert’s The Illusion of Abundance; and key panels, such as Strategies and Design for Community Screenings and the Measuring and Reporting of Impact.
During a Meet the Changemakers session, selected NGOs and international organisations will explain how they work with films and audiovisual content across all formats and platforms, whether as producers, distributors, or exhibitors (Production and Distribution for Social Justice). The professional audience will hear the speakers discuss what they look for, how they work with films and audiovisual content, and the best way to approach them to suggest a potential collaboration. Attendees are then invited to stay for coffee and networking; the Impact Days team will be present to make introductions and encourage exchanges among the participants.
During the Breaking the Bubble: Impactful Talks for Democracy networking event, participants will determine how each of us, from our diverse backgrounds in film or advocacy, all equipped with our own expertise, can contribute to strengthening democratic structures? And how can we shape the future by building bridges beyond the expected audience?
