Docu Rough Cut Boutique has announced the projects for its 2025 roll-out. The event describes itself as “the leading regional programme for documentaries in post-production coming from Southeast Europe and the Caucuses, famous for its boutique format of only five selected projects.”
Created by the Sarajevo Film Festival and Balkan Documentary Center, the programme is organized in three working modules: Sofia (March 2025), Cluj (June 2025) and Sarajevo (August 2025).
Docu Rough Cut Boutique Rada Šešić and Martichka Bozhilova comment: “After years of working with passion and persistence, the great selection of 5 outstanding rough cuts will gather soon at the 15th edition of the Docu Rough Cut Boutique. The small number of projects we take required us to make some tough decisions, and we are very proud of the selected five. It is exciting that several directors are working on their feature-length debuts, and all of them are trying hard to find their singular cinematic voice. Coming from diverse corners of Southeast European countries with bold and ambitious ideas, each team of a director and an editor, joined by the producer in the last session, will aim to put their projects on a global scale. Our team is eager to assist the projects in creating their profound and original final cut. At the last step during the CineLink Industry Days presentation, we work together to find a suitable sales agent, broadcaster, and festival for the films’ world premiere. Congratulations to the selected teams!”
