ACTING AWARD

This year the festival launched a new award. In order to recognise the contributions of actors and actresses, as many of our counterparts already do, we have chosen to entrust the juries of the International, National, Premier & CNAP competitions with the task of choosing one award-winner from their selection. In keeping with the times, we have chosen not to award separate prizes based on gender.

ALICE GUY PRIZE

Alice Guy was the first female filmmaker in the world. She is little known today, despite of her prestigious and prolific career. Created in her memory in 2018, the Alice Guy Prize aims at highlighting the work of female directors by rewarding a feature film made by a woman. In addition to this first prize, the FID’s Alice Guy Prize, introduced this year, will go to a female director in the Flash Competition.

RENAUD VICTOR PRIZE

A selection of films in competition are presented to a voluntary group of inmates in agreement with the Marseille Prison Management. The Prize is sponsored by the CNC in the context of buying copyright for the catalogue Images de la Culture.

GNCR PRIZE

The GNCR Award (National Grouping for Research Film) is awarded to a film from the festival selections. The laureate receives support towards the film’s distribution in France (publication of a brochure by the GNCR and programming of the film in GNCR cinemas). MED IN DOC / MARITIMA TV PRIZE

The Southern Region has entrusted Maritima TV with the mission of creating the Med in Doc / Maritima TV prize. This prize consists in the purchase of documentary film rights related to the Mediterranean. One of these prizes is awarded during the FIDCampus by Pascale Furioli, TV Manager.
