Flanders Film Days adds feature doc Parasisi to October showcase

Parasisi by Zaïde Bil and Sébastien Segers

The completed feature-length documentary Parasisi, directed by VAF Wildcard winner Zaïde Bil and co-directed by Sébastien Segers, is a new addition to the line-up of Flanders Film Days, running 7-8 October on the eve of (and in close collaboration with) Film Fest Gent.

During the Film Days, a total of 25 VAF-supported doc projects – at pitch, work-in-progress or completed stage – will be presented over the course of two days by their creators, comprising established filmmakers as well as talented newcomers. Flanders Film Days will take place on 7-8 October, on the eve of (and in close collaboration with) Film Fest Ghent.

As previously reported, documentary projects by the likes of Kristof Bilsen (The Apologist), Volkan Üce (About Horses, Wives and Weapons), and Bülent Öztürk (Blue Silence) will be presented, alongside many other doc projects with worldwide festival and sales potential.

To complement these new presentations, Flanders Film Days will also feature an extensive programme of online doc screenings, with recently finished films by such as Olga Lucovnicova (Last Letters from my Grandma), Steven Janssens (FLY – Beyond the Spectrum) and Volkan Üce (Two Square Meters). Also included is Marjolijn Prins’ hybrid documentary Fantastique, which was selected for Locarno Kids 2025.

Flanders Film Days is an invitation-only event primarily aimed at international film festivals and sales agents. The showcase will be moderated by experienced film journalist and speaker Marta Balaga.

The event will take place on 7-8 October, on the eve of Film Fest Gent, the film festival well known for its international selection and the World Soundtrack Awards. Institutional partners include the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF), Screen Flanders and Screen Brussels.
