East Doc Platform 2025 has renewed its call for feature docs and series for the 14th edition of East Doc Platform, described as “the largest co-production, funding and distribution platform tailor-made for Central and East European documentaries.”
Organized by the Institute of Documentary Film in association with the One World Film Festival, East Doc Platform 2025 will take place in Prague between March 13-19. The application deadline for submissions is November 15.
Organisers are looking for:
- Creative feature-length documentary films or factual series projects from Central and Eastern Europe (see the list of eligible countries) that are in development or production, orat postproduction stage, as well as finished shorts and feature films.
- Feature-length projects and series to participate in the 24th edition of the East Doc Forum. Participation includes five-day long pitch training and preparation, networking opportunities and individual meetings with invited decision-makers.
- Professionals can also attend the East Doc Market which offers the opportunity to meet with international funders, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents and festival representatives in the form of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings.
- Completed films and rough cuts may be selected for the East Silver Market and take part in pre-arranged individual meetings with international decision-makers, festival selectors and sales.
The East Doc Platform (EDP) every year seeks to connect East European filmmakers and decision makers – producers, broadcasters, distributors and festival programmers – from around the world.
The East Doc Forum is the flagship pitching opportunity for the funding and co-production of projects in the development/early production stage. This includes feature documentaries, as well as factual series. Date: March 18.
The East Doc Market offers curated meetings between filmmakers and decision-makers to pitch projects in the development/ production/post-production stage. Date: March 17-19
During the EDP presentation Czech Docs… Coming Soon, upcoming feature documentaries will be introduced to an audience of invited representatives of prestigious film festivals, sales agents, distributors and the wide public.
East Silver is a unique film market for completed films and rough-cuts. Date: March 17
Selected projects are also eligible for the East Doc Platform Award. The East Doc Platform Jury awards the best project in development and production with the East Doc Platform Award and a financial prize for further development of the documentary film.
