Danish production company Snowglobe announced March 25 that Journeyman Pictures has acquired world sales rights for David Borenstein’s documentary Can’t Feel Nothing, following its world premiere in the F:ACT Award section at CPH:DOX.
The synopsis reads: As society navigates the ever-evolving realm of the Internet, the film poses a poignant question: what is the Internet doing to us? The film explores AI start-ups boasting the ability to kindle desire, undercover American troll groups skilled at orchestrating anger, Macedonian fake news operations adept in weaponizing fear, Chinese live streamers who master the art of eliciting love, and Russian TikTok influencers committed to fostering pride and patriotism. Through extraordinary access to characters who usually remain in the shadows, the film constructs a tapestry of human stories across four continents, depicting a world where our emotions are commodified and instrumentalized with ruthless efficiency.
Can’t Feel Nothing marks David Borenstein’s second feature documentary, following his debut Dream Empire (2016) which premiered in IDFA’s First Appearance Competition. Borenstein has contributed to numerous programs and podcasts for high profile platforms such as ARTE, Al Jazeera, PBS, DR, Vice and NYTimes.
