Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival has unveiled details of its Industry programme running October 29 to November 1. These include:
- Ji.hlava New Visions Forum The pitch of 28 carefully selected upcoming project from Europe, United States, and East & Southeast Asia. Within the programme, 14 carefully selected European documentary projects, both in the development stage and at production/post-production stage will be pitched, as well as 8 from the US and six from East & Southeast Asia. The event will take place on October 30–31 during the Ji.hlava IDFF and will be attended by film professionals and other stakeholders in the film industry accredited at the festival. The presentations will take place in person.
- Ji.hlava New Visions Market Featuring 30 new European projects in development, production and post-production, Ji.hlava New Visions follows new trends in contemporary European film production and is open to all types of non-fiction audiovisual formats. The Market is an active hub connecting producers and other professionals to support the financing and development of projects, as well as their subsequent promotion and distribution.
- Festival Identity Festival Identity is a Ji.hlava IDFF’s platform for representatives of film festivals that aims at strengthening collaboration among film festivals, encouraging know-how exchange, and building the film festivals’ community. Participation in the Festival Identity programme is the most convenient and effective way for film festivals to be part of Ji.hlava IDFF.
- Visegrad Accelerator Visegrad Accelerator is aimed at interconnecting professionals from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. Over the last eleven years, Visegrad Accelerator has become a respected platform, which initiates and expands various film activities in the Visegrad framework. Ji.hlava IDFF “has become a birth place of creative initiatives and meetings of film professionals, critics, film festivals and institutional representatives from Central European countries,” the festival writes.
- Matchmaking Accelerator The goal of the Matchmaking Accelerator is to help interconnect filmmakers and producers with festival representatives, distributors, and other film professionals. Before the festival, film professionals accredited at Ji.hlava can fill in the application form and the Industry Matchmaker will recommend his/her meetings with experts representing various fields of film industry. During the Ji.hlava IDFF 2023 edition, over 500 meetings took place in the 4 days of the matchmaking service.
- Emerging Producers 2025 The introduction and presentation of 17 up-and-comingEuropean film producers, and one from the Guesy Country of Canada.
- Czech Joy in the Spotlight This annual interavtive presentation is focused primarily for international audiences – attended traditionally by representatives of dozens of film festivals, sales agents, media and other film professionals. The new Czech film projects are presented personally by their authors. The event is held in English without interpretation, and is broadcasted also online.
- Discussions, masterclasses, presentations, and more.
The industry accreditations are available at an early bird price of 1,500 CZK (approx. €60) until September 30.
