Berlinale 2020

Knoxville/Tennessee filmmaker Douglas McDaniel was at Berlinale DocSalon to raise finance on a number of projects, including Löttken: Rising Nationalism Then and Now about a woman who, as a 15-year-old girl acted a courier for the German Resistance during WW2.

“[We] ask for [his] immediate and unconditional release... and call on festivals around the world, cinemas and all artists to do the same,” the combined statement underlines.

EFM and DocSalon organised an inaugural Archive Day during Berlinale 2020, with the aim of uniting filmmakers with archive libraries to augment, improve or indeed form the basis of their future audiovisual works.

Archive Day kicks off 25 November with a conference, a sneak preview screening and the chance for filmmakers to meet some of the world's leading archives.
