Winners of Artdocfest/Riga 2025 festival (video)

During the March 8 closing ceremony of Artdocfest/Riga 2025, awards were presented across several categories. In total, the jury evaluated 31 docs from the Baltic Focus and Artdocfest Open competition programs.

The Artdocfest Open jury, comprising Ivars Seleckis (cinematographer and film director, Latvia), Christine Camdessus (Artistic Director of FIPADOC, France) and Sevgil Musaieva (journalist, editor-in-chief, Ukraine), awarded the following prizes:

  • Grand Prix: Mission 200 by Volodymyr Sydko (Ukraine, 2023, 65 mins)
  • Best Director: Everything Needs to Live buy Tetiana Dorodnitsyna, Andrii Lytvynenko (Poland, Ukraine, 2024, 70 mins)
  • Special Award: Connected by Vera Krichevskaya (United Kingdom, 2025, 104 mins)
  • Special Mention: Return of the Projectionist by Orkhan Aghazadeh (Azerbaijan, France, Germany, 2024, 88 mins)

The Baltic Focus jury, comprising Ināra Kolmane (documentary and feature film director and producer, Latvia), Filipp Kruusvall (film critic and DocPoint coordinator, Estonia) and Arūnas Matelis (documentary film director, Lithuania), awarded the following prizes:

  • Grand Prix: Trains by Maciej Drygas (Poland, Lithuania, 2024, 80 mins)
  • Best Director: Afterwar by Birgitte Stærmos (Denmark, Kosovo, Sweden, Finland, 2024, 84 mins)
  • Special Award: The Moment Before by Aleksandrs Grebņevs (Latvia, 2025, 71 mins)

The Artdocfest/Online program will be available for viewing until June 10.
