Visions du Réel '21

The 52nd edition of Visions du Réel (15-25 April) will present 142 films from 58 countries. 82 films will be presented as world premieres and 16 as international premieres. “This powerful and eclectic 2021 selection will once again enable us to take into account the independence and the emancipation of contemporary doc filmmaking,” says Artistic Director Emilie Bujès.

29 projects to participate across Pitch, Work-in-Progress and Rough Cut Lab forums. Industry Awards, including 3 new cash prizes, to be granted by a jury comprising Roberto Olla (Eurimages), Italian director Roberto Minervini and Rasha Salti, Comm Editor for Arte France. VdR Industry to take place April 14-22, both online and on-site.

52nd edition of the leading Swiss docfest will celebrate the work of directors Tatiana Huezo Sánchez (Mexico/El Salvador) and Pietro Marcello (Italy) by holding two major retrospectives and in-depth online masterclasses.

Scheduled for presentation in hybrid form in 2021, Visions du Réel Industry events to run online April 14 to April 17 before on-site professional activity kicks in April 18-22, COVID permitting.
