Visions du Réel (Switzerland) has put out its final call for films and industry projects for the 2021 edition running 16-24 April. Deadline is 22 December 2020 for films finished by April 2021 as well as for Industry projects.
Munich’s DOK.forum announces new prize, puts out project call
Deadline for projects from German-speaking countries set at Feb 1 (except Pitch Award projects: 1 March 2021). New DOK.series award valued at €2,500 for documentary series projects. DOK.forum dates: 5-14 May 2021.
The Wall of Shadows wins Nordic Adventure FF prize
Eliza Kubarska’s Sherpa drama is named Best Film Of the Year at Danish fest. Best Nordic Film nod to Finnish Otto Heikola’s 'Wandering in the White' while the Swedish/Danish 'Earning A River' by Jacob Kastrup Haagensen wins Best Danish Film of the Year.
Thessaloniki Doc Fest to run March to Summer 2021
Greek documentary event to kick off from March 4 running for 10 days. Festival programme to recommence in June or July 2021 together with Agora market for professionals. Plans are being drafted up for hybrid and online scenarios.
Docs for Sale: ‘Ask No Questions’, VGTV Norway decides
Toronto-based Lofty Sky Entertainment announces the sale of Jason Loftus and Eric Pedicelli’s investigative doc Ask No Questions to VGTV Norway for January 2021 broadcast. The film previously sold to Alhurra for the Middle East.

São Paulo/Rio de Janeiro-based hybrid event to run 8-18 April 2021, with deadline for film submissions set for December 18. The 2020 doc fest’s online 25th edition attracted record 116,677 viewers.
